Who I am
This site is run by me, Dawid Fourie, from South Africa. I'm the person responsible for the personal information described here.
What this site collects
- The contact form. Your name, email address, site address (optional) and message. I also receive your IP address with the message, because I use it to check for spam. I use all of this only to reply to you and, if you hire me, to do the work.
- Server logs. My web server records the IP address, the page requested and the time of every visit, for security and fault-finding. These logs are deleted after 30 days.
- Cookies and tracking. This site sets no cookies and has no advertising trackers. Cloudflare, which delivers the site, adds its Web Analytics script to measure visits and page speed (pages, countries, referring sites and load times). Cloudflare says this script uses no cookies and does not follow you from site to site; here is how it works.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare delivers this site and runs the bot check on the contact form. The check looks at signals from your browser to tell people from bots. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google carries the form's email to my inbox. Google's privacy policy.
- Upwork, if you follow the link to my profile there. Upwork's privacy policy.
I don't sell your information or use it for marketing. These services may process data outside South Africa.
How long I keep it
I keep correspondence for as long as it's useful for the conversation or the work, and delete it when you ask me to, unless I have to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.
Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, if you're in Europe or the UK, the GDPR, you can ask what I hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. Send the request through the contact form. If you're unhappy with how I handled it, you can complain to the Information Regulator in South Africa or to your local data protection authority.

If this changes, I'll update the date at the top.
